Artist - Amy Collins
In some form or another, art has always been a part of Amy’s life. For over 30 years, she incorporated her artistic skills into a professional career as a medical illustrator, but for several years now Amy has concentrated her career on oil painting. Amy says, “I love the process of creating a painting, no matter what the subject matter. Although my paintings are representational in nature, I want them to have a looseness and spontaneity that I didn’t have with my illustration work.” She believes that growing as an artist is a lifelong process. She continues to learn from painters that inspire and challenge her, and she teaches weekly classes and workshops in her hometown of Birmingham, Alabama.
