Having grown up in a family of conservationists, Robbie Boyd has an innate love for the land and for those who are stewards of its care. She paints landscapes around her Pontotoc, Mississippi home, as well as scenes from her travels. Mrs. Boyd also paints portraits, still lifes, and animals. She works predominately in oil, but also in acrylic, pastel, and charcoal.
Mrs. Boyd is an award-winning artist with paintings in private and corporate collections from Hollywood to New York. She has paintings on the covers of numerous cookbooks. Mrs. Boyd has studied with nationally respected artists David Leffel, Ray Roberts, Roger Dale
Brown, Kim English, Billy Kirk, Anne Enochs, Robert Harper, and Pat Walker-Fields.
When as a child, the artist watched her mother draw a cat, her love for and appreciation of art began. But because art was not considered a serious profession, she studied education in college, worked as a bookkeeper, then as a professional florist for thirty years. All the while, painting and drawing as a hobby. After executing many portrait commissions and connecting with a gallery who sold her work, she retired from the floral industry and now paints full time.
Mrs. Boyd is a member of Women Painters of the Southeast, Mississippi Painters Society, and American Women Artists.
